Foreword

According to the requirements specified in the Plan for Developing Professional Standards in 2006（Document Number:［2006］No.1093）issued by the General Administration Office of National Development and Reform Commission，this Specification is revised by its development team based on wide and intensive investigations and studies made，practices summarized，comments requested as well as references to international codes and advanced foreign standards.

This Specification comprises 9 chapters and 3 appendixes.

The main technical contents in this Specification include the design of heating，ventilation and air conditioning systems and fire protection and explosion protection facilities for the buildings in petrochemical industry，and the design of heating，ventilation and air conditioning systems for the buildings and positive pressure rooms in coal to chemical industry.

This Specification is revised based on the Design specification for heating，ventilation and air conditioning in petrochemical engineering（SH 3004-1999），and main revisions include:

—The requirements in the former standard，unconformable to the national current standard or code are revised，like selection of ventilation rate of emergency ventilation，air duct material and fireproof material of ventilation and air conditioning；After the revisions，they are more consistent with the country's current standards；

—Revise and add related provisions for full fresh air supply systems，arrangement of dust collection facilities in coal to chemical industry and energy conservation requirements based on the national policy for energy saving and environmental protection；

—Summarize the experiences from the design and engineering of air conditioning systems for explosion resistant control rooms，and add and revise the arrangement and control requirements for blast dampers and electric-operated air-tight shutoff dampers in explosion resistant control rooms based on the wide application and operation practices of explosion resistant control rooms served in petrochemical industry；

—Parts of the provisions are added and revised on ventilation and air conditioning in common service area，such as battery compartment，line outgoing cubicle，elevator machine room，diesel oil generator compartment.

China Petrochemical Corporation（Sinopec）in charge of the management of this code，the Building Design Technology center of Sinopec is in charge of the current management，and Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co，Ltd.is responsible for the explanation of specific technical contents hereof.The relevant opinions and advices，whenever necessary，can be posted or passed on to the Current Management Organization and the Chief Drafting Organization.
