1 General

1.0.1 This Code is developed to implement the national technical and economic policies on the design of power piping for power plants and provide consistent standards,improve design quality,promote technological innovation,make full use of the resources,and ensure safe production,environmental protection,energy saving and cost effectiveness.

1.0.2 This Code applies to the design of piping used for conveying steam,water,gas,and flammable,explosive,toxic and corrosive liquids or gases,and does not apply to the following:

1 Piping belonging to equipment or machineries which are designed by manufacturers as a package;

2 Air and flue gas ducts/pulverized coal piping;

3 Heating,Ventilation and Air Conditioning ducts and pipes with non-circular cross-section;

4 Underground or indoor water supply and drainage piping and fire fighting water supply piping;

5 Piping for foam and CO2 fire suppression systems;

6 Piping for towers,buildings/structures,tanks,mechanical equipment and foundations;and

7 Piping for nuclear power plant.

1.0.3 The design pressure in this Code refers to gauge pressure.

1.0.4 In addition to this Code,the design of power piping for power plants shall comply with the relevant national standards in force.
