Foreword

This Code is prepared by Northeast China Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation in collaboration with associated organizations as required by the Notice on Printing and Distributing the Development and Revision Plan of National Standards for Engineering Construction 2006（JB〔2006〕No.136）issued by the former Ministry of Construction.

In preparing this Code，the drafting staff summarized and absorbed the proven experiences and scientific and technical achievements made in China over years and finalized the draft after soliciting comments from interests concerned.

This Code is organized into 14 chapters and 6 appendices，respectively General Provisions，Terms and Symbols，Condition and Criterion，Materials，Selection of Piping Components，Strength of Piping Components，Pipe Diameter Choosing and Hydraulic Calculation，Piping Layout，Stress Analysis and Calculation of Piping，Supports and Hangers，Piping Welding，Inspection and Testing of Piping，Insulation，Noise Isolation，Anticorrosion and Painting，and Overpressure Protection of Piping System.

In this code，the articles in bold type are compulsory provisions and must be enforced strictly.

This Code is within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China who will also be responsible for the interpretation of compulsory provisions，and subjected to daily management by China Electricity Council，and specific technical interpretation by Northeast China Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation.During the implementation of this Code，the interests concerned are expected to summarize experiences from actual practices and refer any comments and suggestions to Northeast China Electric Power Design Institute of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation at the address of No.4368 Renmin Street，Changchun，Jilin，China，Postcode 130021（Fax:0431-85643157，E-mail:gbdlgd@nepdi.net）.
