6.5 Mould

6.5.1 The mould of round billet caster or square billet caster can be the tubular mould,and the mould of rectangular billet caster can be the tubular mould as well.The mould of slab caster and the mould of some bloom square caster shall be the plate type combined mould,and the bottom mouth of mould shall be equipped with guide foot roll.

6.5.2 The installation of tubular mould shall adopt the installation mode of upper end suspension with allowable bottom end expansion,and the length of mould copper tube shall be 700mm-1000mm.

6.5.3 The guiding water jacket of tubular mould shall ensure the sufficient rigidity.The water jacket shall not be too big and shall be 3.5mm-5mm,and the water flow shall be 8m/s-12m/s.The copper tube shall meet the requirement of heat transfer and rigidity at same time.

6.5.4 The heat transfer calculation of mould copper plate of slab caster shall be done according to the slab section,casting speed,copper material,thickness and cladding layer,water flow,water temperature and size of water jacket.The connection between copper plate and water tank shall meet the design requirement of high rigidity.

6.5.5 The mould design shall ensure the automatic water connection and simple and easy alignment of mould on oscillation table.

6.5.6 The taper as well as the upper and bottom dimension of mould shall meet the requirement of liquid steel solidification.

6.5.7 The mould of round billet caster can be equipped with built-in or outboard type electromagnetic stirrer.

6.5.8 The slab mould can preferably use electric or hydraulic width adjustment unit,and the breakout predication unit shall be provided as well.
