The Things We Need to Know
When reading the report of the World Health Organization, I made two annotations. The first is about whether the virus spreads from person to person. Now Zhong Nanshan has answered this. The second is that China has shared the genome sequence of the new coronavirus. Since I want to examine the problem from all angles, including political aspects, I want to explore more deeply the point Zhong Nanshan mentioned earlier——“Beijing has not concealed any information”. This is my own point of view, but how can we further confirm it?
I went back to the search engine and typed in “the genome sequence of the new coronavirus”. On January 22, 2020, the famous Nature magazine published an article titled “Coronavirus in China: 6 Problems Faced by Scientists”. But in the Arabic version published later, the title was changed to “What do scientists want to know about the new coronavirus?”. In my opinion, the reason for changing the title is that the scientific community refuses to associate the emergence of any virus with a specific country or race. This is based on the relevant guidelines issued by the World Health Organization in 2015. Subsequently, the journal Nature officially apologized for the previous mistakes in its editorial on April 7, 2020.
This article was enough to give me a better understanding of the virus. The magazine collected pressing investigations from scientists, which was more than enough for non-professionals like me. From the answers to these questions, I could lay a solid foundation for my research, so that I could further deepen my understanding of the correct response to the virus on the basis of these focuses.
