Ⅳ.A Prospect: the Boundary and Mission of the Questioner

So far, we have briefly reviewed the form of thinking in Kant's philosophy. As well as criticizing two common questioning attempts that try to transcend experience, pointing out the contradiction of their internal mechanism. Finally, we provide a Kantian outlook on how metaphysics is possible: only scientific metaphysics as a science can make substantial progress in the historical sense. At the end of Introduction to Future Metaphysics , Kant said hopefully, “Rather, it will look at a kind of metaphysics with some kind of joy. This kind of metaphysics will no longer need any preparatory discoveries in his hands, and it can satisfy reason for a long time for the first time”. Kant's outlook is optimistic, but in today's philosophical background and historical context, the situation of metaphysics is no longer even the decline that Kant said, but the complete death. However, “other philosophies” can't essentially replace metaphysics's answer to the question of human nature, and this essential inquiry can't be dispelled through suspended evasion. On the contrary, it will always be the motif and mission of human beings. In order to answer this question, metaphysical lovers should analyze from the context of life, and look for clues and answers to the state that noumena shows from life, even in today's poverty-stricken era when poets have died out.

Finally, I would like to conclude with a quote (which I personally like very much) from Horace and look forward to the fate of metaphysics:“Rusticus exspectat, dum defluat amnis; ar ille Labitur et labetur in omne volubilis aevum. (The peasant waits until the river runs dry; but the river flows, flows, flows and flows forever.)” Yes, from today's point of view, the questioning of metaphysics does not provide a way to save, but it is the fate of every questioner who loves metaphysics and flows forever.
