Convenient Transportation

The capability and quality of Shaanxi in comprehensive transportation service has been continuously improved in 2020. Altogether nine passenger and freight stations represented by Hanzhong Station were built and put into use, and eight stations represented by Tongchuan Station were under construction. Strong support was given to six multimodal transportation projects of railway, road and sea, including the Port Area and the airport. Besides, two demonstration routes for trucks and flights were built. The coordinated operation of Xi'an-Yulin and Xi'an-Ankang “Green Giant” EMUs has filled the gap in the EMU trains of Yulin and Ankang.

In 2020, Xi'an accelerated the construction of rail transit, and the construction of subway fully entered the high-intensity phase of “simultaneous construction of ten lines”, amounting to approximately 260 kilometers of mileage under construction. The opening of Lines 5, 6, and 9 at the end of 2020 has added 83 kilometers of mileage. Line 7 is in operation, totaling 215 kilometers. The sharing rate of rail transit in urban public transportation has exceeded 50%.In 2020, the expressway mileage in Shaanxi Province hit a new high, during which 11 lines and sections of expressways were built and opened for use, including the ones between Pingli and Zhenping, and between Taibai and Fengxian County, adding 578 kilometers of traffic mileage. This has solved the problem of lack of expressways in the remaining eight counties. The expressway mileage in the province exceeded 6,000 kilometers, and the goal of expressway access to all counties in Shaanxi was achieved as scheduled.

The Xi'an-Yinchuan high-speed rail was put into use, and the control project of the Xi'an-Yan'an high-speed rail started construction. The preliminary work of Xikang and Xishi rails was speeding up.

The construction of trunk roads is progressing in an orderly manner. The total length of the road construction is about 1,800 kilometers, and the G310 Huayin-Weinan Project with a total mileage of 400 kilometers was completed and opened to traffic. Basically, all key towns have access to secondary roads.
