Summary

In this chapter, we debunked microservices to understand the evolution of microservices, the characteristics of microservices, and the advantages of microservices. We went through various design principles of microservices, the process of refactoring from monolithic applications to microservices, and the various microservice design patterns.

In the next chapter, we will start our microservice journey. We will go through all the setup required for our microservice journey. We will go through concepts related to Node.js and TypeScript, which are essential throughout the book. We will also create our first microservice, Hello World.
