Benefit measurement methods

There are three main categories of benefit measurement methods that are used to measure the potential benefits of one project versus another. All three may be used to determine the fiscal health of potential projects and most include considerations for the current market. The categories show decision-makers what the potential project costs will be versus the benefit or return could be. Those categories fall into three distinct areas:

  • Cost-benefit analysis
  • Scoring models
  • Payback period
