5　Selection of Piping Components

5.1　General Requirement

5.1.1　The piping components shall meet the requirements on pressure bearing in this code as well as the relevant national standards in force.

5.1.2　The connection between piping components should be made by means of welding，except for those requiring frequent dismantling.

5.1.3　The piping components shall be inspected according to Chapter 12 of this code.

5.1.4　The materials of piping components shall comply with the requirements in Chapter 4 of this code.

5.1.5　The flow area of pipe fittings such as bends，elbows，tees and reducers shall not be less than 95% of the flow area of the connected pipes.

5.1.6　Threaded connection may be used for low-pressure fluid conveying pipes with a design pressure equal to or less than 1.6 MPa and design temperature equal to or lower than 200℃.
