3 Basic Requirements

3.1 Equipment Unpacking Inspection and Storage

3.1.1 After the equipment arrives on site, the relevant organizations of owner, manufacturer, supervisor, construction contractor and storage shall jointly conduct unpacking inspection of equipment,to check its specification, quantity and appearance conditions, and records shall be made and signed by relevant parties.Equipment and components with defects shall be handled as specified in the contract.

3.1.2 The following technical documents shall be checked when equipment cases are unpacked:

1 List of supplies and packing list of equipment.

2 Equipment installation, operation and maintenance instructions and relevant technical documents.

3 Quality certificate documents, inspection and testing records and defect disposition records of equipment when leaving the factory.

4 Equipment assembly drawings and component structure drawings.

5 Material performance certificate documents for materials of main components.

3.1.3 The handling and transport of equipment shall also comply with the following provisions in addition to those in"Code of safety operation in power engineering construction"DL 5009.1:

1 For lifting, slings shall be attached at the designated positions on cases, and cushions shall be added to where load is applied at the contact of slings with edges of lifted object.

2 The center of gravity of the equipment or case shall be checked,to prevent it from moving or toppling over due to movement of mobile parts on equipment or flow of liquid inside the equipment.

3 Provisions against deformation shall be taken for equipment with low rigidity.

4 The bearing capacity of road surfaces and bridges on the way of equipment transport shall be checked, and relevant measures shall be taken when necessary,to prevent any accident.

5 Lifting tools or slings in carbon steel must not contact directly with equipment of stainless steel.

6 Austenite stainless steel and nickel-base alloy materials must not contact directly with ferrite, lead, zinc, mercury and other low-melting point elements, alloys or halide materials.

3.1.4 Equipment unpacking inspection shall comply with the following provisions:

1 In unpacking inspection, damage of equipment and components shall be prevented. The machined surfaces of precision equipment shall be protected properly.

2 Equipment must not be turned or slid before cleaning off anti-corrosive coating, and after cleaning and inspection, original coating shall be applied again for anti-corrosive purpose.

3 Rotary equipment with special requirements such as need of HP jacking oil or sealing lubricant must not be turned during unpacking inspection.

4 After unpacking inspection of equipment, those not to be installed for a time being shall be sealed up again;cases placed in open air shall be provided with effective protection.

5 Accessories and special tools for equipment in cases shall be kept in kit.

3.1.5 Equipment management personnel shall be familiar with equipment storage regulations and special storage requirements for turbo-generator unit equipment, and make timely inspection of their storage,to keep the equipment in sound condition.

3.1.6 Safekeeping of equipment before installation shall comply with the provisions in"Code for maintenance and safekeeping of thermal power equipment in electric power construction"DL/T855.Safekeeping of conventional island and BOP items of nuclear power plants shall comply with the classified safekeeping provision in"Requirements for packaging, shipping, handling, storage, and maintaining of items for nuclear power plants"EJ/T 564.

3.1.7 Equipment and apparatus shall be stored by zones and categories with clear marks, and shall comply with the following requirements:

1 In the storage area there shall be clear zone boundaries and fire fighting passages, with reliable fire fighting facilities and effective lighting.

2 The storage location of large equipment shall be arranged reasonably according to the construction sequence and transport conditions as per construction organization design,to reduce rehandling.

3 Equipment shall be supported and backed stably and reliably, the storage area shall have proper water drainage, and with measures against collision, freezing, moisture, dust and toppling.

4 The storage location and shelves shall have sufficient bearing capacity.

5 In coastal area with salty air and corrosive environment, special measures shall be made to protect equipment from rusting.

6 Instruments, meters and precision components shall be placed on shelves or in constant temperature stores as required.

7 Pipe materials, fittings and parts shall be clearly marked and stored by category,to avoid confusion.

8 For equipment protected with nitrogen, the nitrogen pressure and equipment sealing condition shall be checked periodically.Nitrogen shall be supplied in time when the pressure is below 3.5kPa.

9 For electrical,I&C and other equipment with special requirements, measures to prevent small animals from intrusion shall be made.

3.1.8 If any damage or quality defect is found before installation of equipment, the relevant organizations shall be notified in time to check and confirm it jointly for disposition.

3.1.9 Parts and fasteners in equipment shall go through spectrum,NDT,metallographic and hardness check as per the scope and proportion specified in"The technical supervision codes for metal in fossil-fuel power plant"DL/T 438 and"The technical guide for high temperature bolt of fossil-fired power plant"DL/T 439,and shall comply with the manufacturer drawings and relevant standards.

3.1.10 Quality certificate documents shall be presented for materials supplied with equipment, and in case of any doubt on material quality in check,re-inspection shall be performed.

3.1.11 Outsourced or field fabricated finished products or semi-finished products shall be inspected as per the relevant provisions in this part, and can be used only after qualification.

3.1.12 Protection shall be strengthened for equipment installed in place,to prevent damage, rusting or break due to freezing of equipment when installed;for main equipment after trial run, maintenance measures shall be formulated according to relevant requirements of manufacturer on equipment and reviewed and approved by Supervisor,to ensure proper safekeeping of equipment.
