4 Steam Turbine Proper

4.1 General Provisions

4.1.1 This chapter is applicable to the works for such components as sole plate, bearing pedestals, bearing, casing, diaphragm, steam seal, rotor, turning gear, heating pipe inside casing, insulation partition and crossover pipe of the turbine proper.

4.1.2 Transport and lifting of equipment for turbine proper shall comply with the following provisions in addition to the provisions in 3.1.3:

1 For equipment supplied in complete set from manufacturers, the total weight, center of gravity and lifting tying points of the equipment shall be confirmed, and lifting and transport machines and tools shall be selected before lifting and transport.

2 For transport and lifting of special equipment such as casing and rotor, special tools provided by manufacturer shall be used,if no special tool has been provided by manufacturer, special tools shall be made according to the technical documents provided by the manufacturer and relevant safety rules on-site.

3 In lifting, any special requirement of the manufacturer on the up-rising inclination of equipment shall be complied with.

4.1.3 Storage of equipment for turbine proper shall comply with the following provisions in addition to the provisions in 3.1.7:

1 Management with fixed positions is advocated.

2 For placing of large equipment, meeting of loading requirements shall be confirmed according to the area load distribution diagram provided by design institute.

3 For important equipment, isolation shall be provided to prevent damage, and periodical inspection shall be made;for components within the range of electric and I&C,separate safekeeping requirements shall be defined by relevant specialties.

4 Measures against dust, corrosion and collision shall be taken for rotor, diaphragm, and components inside casing and equipment joint surfaces.

5 Threaded parts of bolts and other fasteners shall be strictly protected against damage.

4.1.4 Inspection and installation of alloy steel parts shall comply with the following provisions in addition to the provisions in 3.1.9:

1 For components assembled in the factory and not to be dismantled on-site,manufacturer shall present valid quality certificate documents.

2 Materials inspection and confirmation shall be completed before closing up of turbine.

3 Materials shall be maintained by designated personnel and stored at fixed location,to prevent use by mistake.

4.1.5 Erection of turbine proper shall be in strict accordance with the requirements of manufacturer, and the erection procedure must not be changed for reasons of equipment supply, delivery of drawings and on-site conditions.

4.1.6 For equipment supplied from manufacturer in complete set without assembling on-site,manufacturer shall ensure conformity of the internal component structure and performance with the technical documents provided by it.

4.1.7 The adjustment of flow path gap shall follow the principle of energy conservation and consumption reduction, the lower limit gap value on drawings should be taken while ensuring operation safety of turbine, and the gap shall be uniform.

4.1.8 Selection of coating material for joint surface shall comply with the following provisions:

1 It can effectively prevent leakage from joint surfaces.

2 It complies with environmental protection requirements.

3 It will not result in corrosion of equipment or personal injury to construction personnel.

4.1.9 During the whole erection of turbine and after cylinder covering, the connection of equipment and systems must not produce any additional stress on casings.
