第5章 Abstract

This book is a systematic sociological study of the social and cultural manifestations and consequences of globalization. The study focuses specifically on the interaction between culture and both the economy and politics, among different cultures, the potentials inherent to globalization for both conflicts and common growth in relation to world civilization, self-identification and nation-states. The book has four chapters, in which detailed discussions are given on cultural clashes and coexistence (ch. 1), modernity and the evolution of civilizations (ch. 2), self-Identification (ch. 3), and nation-state and contemporary China (ch. 4) in a globalized world.
